Android Setup Guide

What You Need

Download the Client

Download the latest Hiddify Next APK.
- Open the Hiddify releases page on GitHub
- Download the file ending in "-universal.apk" (works on most devices)
- If your chip is arm64, the "-arm64-v8a.apk" is slightly smaller
Hiddify is 100% free and open source. Always download from the official GitHub to avoid tampered builds.

Install the APK.
- Open your Downloads folder and tap the APK
- When prompted, grant "Install unknown apps" to your browser/file manager
- Tap Install and wait a few seconds
Chrome or Files may warn you about unknown APKs — this is normal for apps outside Google Play. Tap "Install anyway".

Launch Hiddify Next once and grant VPN permission.
Android will ask to create a VPN connection. Tap OK. This lets Hiddify route your traffic through STEA servers.

Import Your Subscription Link

Copy your subscription link.
Open the STEA VPN dashboard in your phone browser and copy the subscription link to the clipboard.

Tap + → Import from Clipboard or choose "Subscription".
- Open Hiddify Next
- Tap the large "+" floating button in the bottom-right
- Select "Subscription" from the options sheet
- Hiddify will show your clipboard content — confirm the link looks correct
If you tapped the wrong option, you can also go to Profiles tab → "+" → Subscription manually.

Name it STEA VPN and Save → Update.
- Profile name: "STEA VPN"
- Paste or confirm the subscription URL
- Tap the floppy-disk Save icon, then tap Update/Refresh to pull servers

Connect

Switch to the STEA VPN profile.
On the Home tab, swipe to or select the "STEA VPN" profile you just added.

Pick a server and tap the large Connect button.
- Select a server from the list (low ping usually means faster)
- Tap the big round power/Connect button
- Accept the Android VPN connection prompt once
A key-shape VPN icon will appear in the Android status bar whenever Hiddify is connected.

Verify It Works

Check your new public IP.
Open https://whatismyip.com in Chrome — it should show the server country you selected.

Test 4K streaming or an AI service.
Open YouTube, switch a video to 4K and let it play for 30 seconds. Then try ChatGPT or Netflix.

App crashes immediately on old Android 7/8.
Download the specific APK for your CPU architecture (armv7 / arm64) instead of the "universal" build. It tends to be more stable on older devices.
"Invalid subscription" when I paste.
Use the "Import from clipboard" option — don't paste by hand, because on some Android keyboards invisible spaces get inserted at the end.
Connection drops in background / battery saver kills it.
In Android Settings → Apps → Hiddify → Battery: choose "Unrestricted". Also lock the app in your recent apps overview so the OS does not kill it.
